Two new videos have taken centre stage in the Charlie Kirk assassination case. With the manhunt for a possible shooter still underway, authorities have yet to name and identify a suspect in connection with the conservative activist’s murder. One of these was released by the Utah Department of Public Safety, while the other was obtained by CNN.as

The first of these clips appears to have caught the suspect in Kirk’s fatal shooting fleeing a school building and racing into a wooded area. According to Commissioner Beau Mason’s remarks at a news conference on Thursday evening (US time), this is where official discovered the gun believed to have been used to take aim at Kirk on September 10.

According to the officially released video, the suspect is seen running on a school building roof in Orem, Utah. He begins racing from the top left corner and progresses towards the right corner. The possible shooter is then seen climbing off the building. DPS Commissioner Beau Mason said that authorities believe the suspect was wearing Converse sneakers while racing off the scene.

After effortlessly getting off the side, the individuals runs into a wooded area after crossing the parking a lot, as per Mason. The official FBI Salt Lake City account on X further said, “Trace evidence collected from the rooftop includes shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print.”

Person matching suspect’s description spotted near campus

On the other hand, the second footage was obtained from a house camera near Utah Valley University, where chaos unfolded on Wednesday. Obtained by CNN, the surveillance video catches a person walking with a seemingly slight limp on a residential street hours before the shooting.

The footage was geolocated to a location near the college campus. TMZ recovered a similar security camera video.

As per its owner, the timecode shown on the camera video did not match local time. Meanwhile, officials previously stated that the potential Charlie Kirk shooting suspect reached the Utah Valley University campus that day at 11:52 am.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect at large

The unspecified suspect or ‘person of interest’ is still at large. In an interview with NBC News, Beau Mason said authorities had “no idea” whether the possible killer was still in Utah or had already crossed state lines.

“We’re exploring leads for individuals that live close by,” he said. “We literally have persons of interest, tips coming in on the tip line, that are spanning far and wide.” Before the closing moments of news conference on Wednesday evening, Utah Governor Spencer Cox said they would be pursuing the death penalty once the suspect is apprehended.

Ahead of the press event, they were still referring to the individual as a “person of interest.” However, after its, the Utah governor and other official directly called the individual a suspect.

“We are seeking the public’s help in identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” stated the official Utah Public Safety X account earlier.

The FBI has since also offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person behind Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
