As tensions between Iran and Israel escalate into a fifth consecutive day of military strikes, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed that Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for safety reasons through arrangements made by the Indian Embassy.

Other Indian residents with access to private transportation have also been advised to relocate from the Iranian capital, given the deteriorating security situation.

In a separate effort, the Embassy has facilitated the exit of some Indian nationals via the Iran-Armenia border.

The MEA added that the Embassy remains in continuous touch with the Indian community in Iran, providing all possible assistance.

Besides this, the Embassy of India in Tehran has issued an urgent appeal to all Indian nationals in the city. The embassy has requested citizens to immediately get in touch and provide their current location and contact details. This comes amid growing concerns for civilian safety as the conflict intensifies.

“All Indian Nationals who are in Tehran and not in touch with the Embassy are requested to contact the Embassy of India in Tehran immediately and provide their Location and Contact numbers,” read a post by the Indian mission on X.

The embassy has also advised those who can safely leave Tehran using personal resources to relocate to safer areas outside the city.

Israel-Iran conflict worsens
The crisis stems from Israel’s large-scale airstrikes last Friday targeting key Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory, marking one of the most direct and dangerous escalations in the Middle East in recent years.

Global repercussions
US President Donald Trump cut short his G7 summit visit in Canada to return to Washington. Trump also issued a stark warning to Iranian civilians, urging them to evacuate Tehran, a city of over 10 million residents, as the threat of further strikes looms large.
