Japan jobs availability in April hits highest since 1974

Japan's jobless rate held steady at 2.8 percent in April and the availability of jobs rose to the highest since February 1974, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed on Tuesday.

Japan’s jobless rate held steady at 2.8 percent in April and the availability of jobs rose to the highest since February 1974, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed on Tuesday. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate matched the median forecast of economists polled by Reuters.
The jobs-to-applicants ratio rose to 1.48 from 1.45 in March.
