US President Donald Trump has urged people to “immediately evacuate Tehran” as Israel and Iran have entered their fifth day of war. Trump, who cut short his G7 visit due to mounting tensions, has once again emphasised his stance on Iran’s nuclear program, declaring that it “cannot have a nuclear weapon”. He went on to call the current situation “a shame”. Trump has left the G7 Summit and will soon be in the Situation Room to address the crisis.
He further added that Iran should have signed the deal with the US. The US wanted to sign a nuclear deal with Iran. The deal was going in the “positive” direction, but uranium enrichment was the main point of contention.
The proposed deal held different stakes for each side. Trump viewed it as a potential political win, while Iran was seeking relief from the US sanctions. However, given the current situation, any hopes for diplomacy now appear increasingly unlikely.
“Iran should have signed the ‘deal’. I told them to sign. What a shame and waste of human life,” said Trump in a post on Truth Social.
He added, “Simply stated, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
In another post, he reiterated that “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon”.
“America first means many great things, including the fact that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. Make America Great Again,” he wrote a few hours back.
On June 15, he said that “Iran and Israel should make a deal” by using “trade” with the US.
He added, “During my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were going at it hot and heavy, as they have for many decades, and this long-time conflict was ready to break out into war. I stopped it (Biden has hurt the longer-term prospects with some very stupid decisions, but I will fix it, again!).”
“Another case is Egypt and Ethiopia, and their fight over a massive dam that is having an effect on the magnificent Nile River. There is peace, at least for now, because of my intervention, and it will stay that way!” he went on to say, before adding, “Likewise, we will have, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings are now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK. The people understand. Make The Middle East Great Again!”
