Dhaka came under the attack of ISIS terrorists after more than 20 people were held hostages at the Holey Artisan Bakerry in the high-security Gulshan diplomatic area last night.

So far, about six terrorists have been neutralised as the nightlong gun-fire ends. Government sources said that the reports on the operation by Bangladesh security forces and safety of Indian High Commission staffers is still unconfirmed. However,  India is closely watching the hostage crisis at Bangladesh and so far, the Indian staffers were reported safe.

Islamic State militants stormed into a restaurant in Dhaka’s high profile area last night. Around 100 commandos from Bangladesh security force had entered the restaurant followed by combing operations and gunshots. At least two senior officers dead and 30 people were injured after the fierce gunbattle.

The attack took place on the same day when a Hindu priest was killed in a temple at Bangladesh’s southwestern district of Jhenaidah.
