Dhaka hostage crisis: The Bangladeshi Police in Dhaka said that the main building of the cafe where gunmen took hostages has been cleared. According to a police official at least six militants have been killed and thirteen hostages are safe.

Heavily-armed Bangladeshi commandos today stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka’s high-security diplomatic area where suspected Islamic State militants were holding many people hostage, including foreigners, since last night. Sounds of explosion rocked the area since early hours of Saturday morning.

Speaking to one of India’s news channels, Lieutenant Colonel Masood of the Rapid Action Battalion said that he believed between six and 10 gunmen had stormed the restaurant in Dhaka’s diplomatic area on Friday.
