Tech billionaire Elon Musk has reignited his feud with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, mocking him as “Scam Altman” in a fresh jab on social media. The Tesla and SpaceX chief made the comment while sharing a video of Altman testifying before the US Senate Judiciary Subcommittee, where the OpenAI CEO claimed he holds no equity in the company and works solely out of passion.

The clip, originally posted by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley on X, dates back to May 16, 2023. In it, Altman was asked about his compensation, to which he replied, “No. I’m paid enough for health insurance. I have no equity in OpenAI.”

He further stressed, “I’m doing this because I love it.” Musk’s sarcastic remark suggests he remains skeptical of Altman’s altruistic portrayal.

The Ultimate Billionaire Feud

The longstanding rivalry between the two tech moguls resurfaced recently after Musk, along with a group of investors, made a bold $97 billion takeover offer for OpenAI. Altman, however, dismissed the bid, reaffirming that OpenAI was “not for sale.”

Responding on X, Altman fired back with a sharp retort: “No thank you but we will buy Twitter for 9.74 billion dollars if you want.” The comment was a direct dig at Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter (now X) in 2022, a deal that has faced widespread criticism.

Speaking at the AI Action Summit in Paris, Altman doubled down on his stance, telling Sky News, “OpenAI is not for sale. OpenAI’s mission is not for sale.”
