Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is in New York City right now. He’s getting ready for his first time at the Met Gala, a very famous fashion event.
Usually, stars don’t tell anyone what they’ll wear to the Met Gala. But Diljit has been sharing his trip with everyone online! He even showed his invitation for the Met Gala 2025 in a funny video on Monday. He captioned the post: “MET GALA Tomorrow. Daso Fer Ki Paiye Kal Nu; Halaa Laa Laa Karauni An (Tell me what to wear tomorrow, need to dazzle everyone).”
Diljit jokingly said in the video, that his relatives and friends shouldn’t send him wedding invites anymore because he got a much bigger one – for the Met Gala! He highlighted the importance of the event and said, “koi Chota-Mota card nahi hai” (not a normal invitation). He showed the invitation and mentioned the theme: Black Dandyism.
Diljit also read out that you can’t take photos at the event. He joked in Punjabi that he can’t even make reels for social media. He mentioned the guidelines, ‘the use of the cell phone and recording device is prohibited’
He also said he’d be sitting with famous people like basketball player LeBron James and rapper ASAP Rocky. He even mentioned Anna Wintour, who is in charge of Vogue magazine and the Met Gala.
He humoursly pointed out that the invitation was only for one person, comparing it to how Indian weddings charge “per plate” for food.
Fans loved Diljit’s video. One person said he would be the “first Sikh fashion icon” at the Met Gala. Another wrote, “Punjabis are at the Met Gala!” Many others said Diljit was very funny and creative.
What is Met-Gala?
The Met Gala is a big party that raises money for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It happens every year and has lots of famous people wearing fancy clothes. This year’s Met Gala is on May 5th in New York. Besides Diljit, other Indian stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Kiara Advani are also expected to be there.
