Air India flight, which took off from Bengaluru, had a rough landing in Gwalior on Sunday. The aircraft almost touched down during its first attempt but lifted off again before finally touching down on the second attempt. As per reports, the plane briefly lost control due to a technical glitch and veered to one side.
The flight took off from Bengaluru at 10:50 am with around 150 passengers onboard and landed at Gwalior at 1:30 pm, as per data available on Flightradar24.
A video of angry passengers from the Gwalior Airport has gone viral on social media, where they share their experience one by one and even claim that the landing was so rough that the life jackets came out.
‘Boeing good for nothing’
The video opens to show a passenger saying, “Boeing is good for nothing. They later give compensation and offer garlands….”
He asked, “Why so inefficient services of Air India?” before adding, “Very bad. Our lives were at stake. We could have had a heart attack, too. The flight tilted to one side mid-air.”
The camera then pans towards another passenger, who also says that the flight tilted to one side, and added that the second landing was at a “very high speed” and that it wasn’t a “smooth” one.
A passenger claimed that there was a “fault” on the flight. “The flap on the right wing did not open to help reduce the speed of the aircraft.”
‘Life jackets came out’
A woman passenger said that the pilot should have communicated to the passengers that the flight was facing a technical glitch. Another reportedly claimed that even life jackets came out: “During landing, even the life jackets had come out of the seats, which further spread fear among the passengers.”
One elderly man read out a complaint that the passengers have apparently submitted to the authorities: “A tragic issue happened at Airport Gwalior. Air India flight from Bengaluru to Gwalior was just about to crash at a very high speed before the pilot took off again just before touching the land. Then on the second attempt, at a very high speed, the plane landed.
In another video, an airport official can be seen calming down the officials as they demanded to meet the officials and the pilot.
According to a report by news agency PTI, airport officials have confirmed that the flight failed to land on its first attempt but touched down safely on the second.
