JioStar, the newly formed joint venture between Viacom18 and Star India launched JioHotstar, a streaming platform that combines content from JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. The high-profile merger caught the attention of Shaadi.com, the popular matchmaking platform owned by Anupam Mittal.

The company put up a billboard celebrating the new partnership with a witty message:

“Bhadai ho JioHotstar! Aisi jodi toh hum sab deserve karte hain. Get on Shaadi.com.”

Marketing move

The creative marketing move quickly gained traction, with people appreciating the humour and timely connection to Valentine’s Day.

The celebration extended to social media, where a user, Gauri M shared a post on LinkedIn, highlighting Shaadi.com’s fun collaboration: “Valentine’s Day ke din Shaadi.com collaborate na kare, is that even possible? Shaadi.com is celebrating the newest couple in town with a fun collaboration. Jio Hotstar ban gaya na Valentine’s Day aur bhi special?”

In response, Anupam Mittal, Shaadi.com’s founder and a judge on Shark Tank India, added a cheeky reply: “Saari jodi hum hi banate hain 😉”
