The cricket team from Lucknow, representing Uttar Pradesh in the 2025 season of the national T20 league, visited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence on Monday evening. Team captain Rishabh Pant, along with his teammates and coaching staff, met with the CM ahead of the upcoming season.
The 2025 season of the tournament is set to begin on March 22, with a highly anticipated match between Kolkata and Bengaluru at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Lucknow’s first game is scheduled for March 24 against Delhi at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Lucknow’s team made it to the playoffs in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons but were eliminated in the final round on both occasions. In the 2024 season, the team finished seventh in the standings. Rishabh Pant, the left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, became the league’s most expensive player when Lucknow acquired him for INR 27 crore at last year’s auction.
