India’s Harmanpreet Singh opened the scoring in the seventh minute, giving India an early lead in the first quarter. However, Germany responded with determination. Gonzalo Peillat leveled the score with a successful penalty corner conversion in the 18th minute, and Christopher Ruehr added another goal in the 27th minute from the penalty spot after an Indian defender blocked a goal-bound shot from a German penalty corner.
Harmanpreet Singh brought India back into the game with another goal to equalize the score. However, Germany continued their relentless attack, eventually scoring the decisive third goal. Despite India’s valiant efforts to turn the match around, Germany’s strong defense and strategic play secured their victory.
