IPL Auction 2025 Players List RR: Rajasthan Royals made a significant move at the IPL 2025 Auction in Jeddah, securing England pacer Jofra Archer for Rs 12.5 crores, well above his base price of Rs 2 crores. In addition to Archer, RR strengthened their squad with some key overseas acquisitions. Sri Lankan duo Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana were bought for Rs 5.25 crores and Rs 4.40 crores, respectively. Former Mumbai Indians (MI) player Akash Madhwal joined RR for Rs 1.20 crore, while Kartikeya Singh was roped in for Rs 30 lakhs.
After his return to RR, Archer shared his excitement in a video, saying, “Hey guys, so happy to be back. Can’t wait to get out there. Halla Bol.” Archer has been a standout performer for England, with 124 wickets in 69 matches across all formats at an average of 26.45. He previously played for RR from 2018-2021 before joining MI in 2023. In the IPL, he has claimed 46 wickets in 35 matches at an impressive average of 21.33.
Theekshana, who was the first player picked in the auction, was also in high demand, with Mumbai Indians vying for his signature. The Sri Lankan has taken 126 wickets in 107 matches across all formats and has been a key player for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2022, with 25 wickets in 27 IPL matches.
Hasaranga, one of the world’s top T20 bowlers, brings vast experience to RR. With 287 wickets and 2344 runs, including nine fifties in 200 matches, he has taken 35 wickets in 26 IPL games. In a record-breaking auction, Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) securing him for Rs 27 crores. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer were snapped up by Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 26.75 crores and Rs 23.75 crores, respectively.
