Kolkata Knight Riders not only secured victory against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday but also discovered a shining star in 18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who hammered a half-century in just 25 deliveries. Raghuvanshi came out to bat at No. 3 for KKR and ended up hitting 3 sixes and  5 boundaries and  in an extremely thrilling knock.  He did not hesitate once and looked completely at ease against the DC bowlers. He joined the destructive boundary-hitting party with Sunil Narine and dispatched the DC bowlers all over the ground. The youngster dominated the pitch and formed a 104-run partnership with Sunil Narine.

The right-handed batter was dismissed by Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje while attempting another big shot. His sensational knock earned him a place in several record books for KKR

Who is Angkrish Raghuvanshi?

At the age of 11, Raghuvanshi left Gurgaon and relocated to Mumbai to refine his skills. During the 2022 U-19 World Cup, he accumulated 278 runs as an opener. India emerged as champions in the tournament, led by captain Yash Dhull.

He plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and is well-known for his all-round skills. In addition to batting, he is also a left-arm orthodox bowler.

In 2023, Raghuvanshi made his T20 debut and List A for Mumbai in 2023. Despite not making a big impact in domestic white-ball tournaments, the 18-year-old had an impressive CK Nayudu Trophy, scoring 765 runs in nine matches.
