Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for poll-bound Bihar on Tuesday during his rally in Bihar’s Arra district. In an attempt to woo voters, he also announced an additional Rs 40,000 crore package for Bihar for infrastructure development.

Prior to his speech, Modi launched Highway project worth Rs 9,700 crore and laid foundation of 23 skill training centres in Bihar. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Ravi Shankar Prasad were also at the venue.

Significantly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was not present in the launch of these crucial projects. His seat instead had been occupied by his Cabinet minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
