Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Mexico and the United States, from October 16 to 26 for an official tour, where she will participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB).

In the US, Sitharaman will also participate in the fourth G20-Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governor (FMCBG) meetings, and G7 – Africa Ministerial Roundtable; and hold bilateral meetings with several countries, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Germany. FM will be in the US from October 20-26.

Moreover, Sitharaman will participate in the Pension Funds Roundtable at New York Stock Exchange; interact with students and faculty at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and also at the Columbia University; and take part in discussions organised by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), respectively.

Meanwhile, in Mexico, the FM will begin her visit in Guadalajara, where she will chair the Tech Leaders Roundtable that will bring together global technology leaders, including the major Indian IT giants present in the region.

Sitharaman will further hold a bilateral meeting with her Mexican counterpart Rogelio Ramirez de la O, and hold discussions with several members of the Mexican Parliament to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and foster economic development.

In the last leg of her maiden visit to Mexico, the FM will participate in a community event, being hosted by the Indian diaspora.
