The Union Cabinet has given the green light to seven major agricultural schemes, totaling approximately Rs 14,000 crore. This includes a Rs 2,817 crore Digital Agriculture Mission and a Rs 3,979 crore scheme dedicated to crop science.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decisions following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Cabinet also approved a Rs 2,291 crore initiative to enhance agricultural education and management, and a Rs 1,702 crore scheme aimed at promoting sustainable livestock health and production. Additionally, a significant Rs 860 crore scheme was approved for sustainable horticulture development.

Other approved schemes include a Rs 1,202 crore program to strengthen Krish Vigyan Kendra and a Rs 1,115 crore initiative for Natural Resource Management.

The total allocation for these seven schemes amounts to over Rs 13,960 crore.
