Beats by Dr Dre, the premium audio brand owned by Apple, recently made its India debut with a trio of devices: Beats Solo 4 headphones, Beats Solo Buds earbuds, and Beats Pill speaker. The line-up maybe diverse, but the idea behind the new products is same across the board. They are all designed to offer big sound inside a small package for on the go listening.
-
The Beats Solo 4 are on-ear wireless headphones, the Solo Buds are truly wireless (TWS) earbuds. The Beats Pill are portable Bluetooth speakers.
-
The Beats Solo 4 weigh just 217 grams and offer passive noise isolation only. There is no ANC but they provide lossless and Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. They are rated for up to 50 hours of playback with fast charging available.
-
The Beats Pill pack ‘racetrack’ woofer with neodymium magnets and a streamlined design with a 20-degree upward tilt for upward firing audio. The speaker is IP67 rated and is rated to deliver up to 24 hours of battery life.
-
The Beasts Solo Buds pack dual-layer drivers inside the ‘smallest’ case that Beats has ever made. The earbuds feature in-ear design and are rated to deliver up to 18 hours of battery life with fast charging available.
-
The Beats Solo 4 are priced at Rs 22,900.
-
The Beats Pill is priced at Rs 16,900.
-
The Beats Solo Buds are priced at Rs 6,900.
-
All the three devices are compatible with both Android and iOS.

The Beats Solo 4, Beats Solo Buds, and Beats Pill work as advertised mostly. They offer big sound in a compact chassis as advertised and while the lack of ANC in the buds and headphones may be noticeable, they more than make for it by playing the basics well enough.
