The Legend of Michael Mishra released today and it is supposed to be a comedy. The cast consists of Arshad Warsi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Boman Irani, and Kayoze Irani and the Director is Manish Jha. The foundation for a standout movie has been ostensibly laid. The actors are special and can carry off humorous scenes aplenty with ease and leave everyone in tears from laughing too much. But expectations can be tricky and do have a penchant for turning out to be the very opposite of what they promised. For those people looking to make plans for their weekend and perhaps for Friday itself, it would be better if they read this – we provide to you here 5 reasons why The Legend of Michael Mishra sucks and why you should not watch the movie: (Source: Twitter)

The Legend of Michael Mishra starts by looking backwards with Boman Irani, who owns a dhaba, telling visiting tourists about the 'legendary' Michael Mishra (Arshad Warsi). The tale encompasses a murder by none other than Michael the tailor man – yes, that is his profession, but he moves on from there as the movie progresses. This 'killer moment' sets in motion a number of events dotted with special situations that finally causes a transition in the lfe of Michael that turns him into a don. If you are willing to punish yourself, then please do sit through the film. And no, we are not finished, there is more. There is love too in it, somewhere, in a twisted kind of way. (Source: IE)

Michael Mishra had fallen in love and was all set to marry when fate pulled its strings and they were separated. Yes, the man does finally find his lady love (Aditi Rao Hydari) years later (he never ceases searching for her during the time he was separated from her). But the lady is of stern demeanor and insists the don first turn into a respectable man else she will have nothing to do with him. And he tries to obey. The challenge is stiff simply because he faces a murder rap that can send him to jail. But then, love conquers all, no? (Source: IE)

Michael gives himself up to the police and is, horrors!, sent to jail for an unheard of 500 years. Yes, there are other actors in the mix and some of them do a stellar job like Michael Mishra's sidekick Half Pant (Kyroze Irani), but the dialogue never rises to a level that is above average and the jokes fall flat. Will another transformation happen, do things change for the better, does Micheal get to live with his lady love and where did the legend about Michael come from is, what the rest of the movie is about. Arshad Warsi, is definitely an actor who is worth watching when he is in his element, but in The Legend of Michael Mishra he is clearly not. The canvas is too wide for him to span and not because of any fault of his own. The only saving grace, if it can be called that is the 'twist' in the second half. That does hold the viewers' attention. Aditi Rao Hydari is totally misplaced in the role and is stiff and unresponsive even though she is the person around whom Michael Mishra's life revolves. Boman Irani's time in the movie is short, but he does stand out. But this is hardly something that is worth investing your time and money in. (Source: Twitter)
