Dishoom box office collections: Good content generally manages to do well especially if it is packaged in Bollywood's glitzy colours and the cast is perfect and empowered to carry it off to perfection – John Abraham and Varun Dhawan managed to ace this Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros Now movie! It is this very reason that has held Dishoom still in the running in the box office collections race. And indubitably, Dishoom collections, whatever the final figure is, will ensure that it comes in the best movies of 2016 list. And on top of that, it will be a double whammy film – it has top quality content and it has the collections too, to show for it. Some of the other top quality films like Irrfan Khan's Madaari failed to get this kind of boost – a great movie content wise, but the collections did not back it. That fate has not befallen Dishoom. Dishoom box office collections have been on an upward trend and although they dropped on Monday, which was expected, but not to the extent it actually fell, but on Tuesday, the movie managed to staunch the losses and earned a formidable Rs 4.30 crore to raise its India takings to Rs 46.47 crore and that means it is likely to become a Rs 50 crore film by the time the next week rolls by. And fortunately for John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and the filmmakers, the international market has finally thrown up some creditable figures, belatedly though, and these reached an overall level of Rs 77.88 crore. There are some critics who are saying that Dishoom collections will never be enough to allow it entry into the Rs 100 crore exclusive club, but that is not what this movie was about. The movie was expected to do well enough but not reach the levels it has so far. Considring that the filmmakers and the cast have made the movie so very interesting, all the credit has to go to their hard work and perseverance to ensure they the biggest bang for the money. Ultimately, whether a film is a super-hit or a super-loss, critics or others of their trade are not the ones who decide. That is done by nobody else but the audience. If the box office collections are nice and fat, the film is great. We are not going to get into the argument over the content quality, we are sticking to cold, harsh cash.
