<br>RTI activist beaten to death in UP</br> <br>An RTI activist and member of Aam Aadmi Party was today beaten to death allegedly by the village head of Hardigaura in the district, police said. Additional Superintendent of Police J P Pandey said that Guru Prasad Mishra (58) used to move RTI applications on development works done by village head Triloki Nath in the village and recently staged a dharna at district headquarters. According to complaint given by Mishra's family members, Triloki along with his brothers and sons attacked their house and brutally assaulted Guru Prasad. They alleged that Mishra, who sustained serious injuries, died while being taken to the hospital. "We Muslims have no problem with Yoga but there are certain words that need to be corrected. As a physical exercise and as a way of life, yoga has great benefits but it has been given a particular colour and that is not correct. Yoga should not be associated with any particular religion," he told Rajat Sharma on India TV's 'Aap Ki Adalat'. Elaborating his reservations concerning 'Surya Namaskar', Madani said, "Considering sun as god is against the basic tenets of Islam. It should not be made a part of government-organised functions." "I have told her that I cannot stop serving my mother and motherland," he said, adding, he was open to discuss other issues with his estranged spouse. "INS Sandhayak has picked up signals from the missing aircraft. The signals were picked up from the aircraft which has Sonar Locating Beacon and it can transmit signals upto 30 days," Inspector General S P Sharma, Commander, Coast Guard (East), Chennai, said. 'Sandhayak' began operations in the Karaikkal-Cuddalore coastline on the intervening night of June 11-12. The Dornier aircraft went missing on June 8 after a routine maritime surveillance sortie along the Tamil Nadu coast. It lost contact with air traffic control after 9.23 PM on that day, following which a massive search operation was launched with the involvement of multiple state and central agencies. The two vehicles were on their way to a canal for a ceremony related to Bhagwat puja which was being organised in Pura village, Additional Superintendent of Police R P Gupta said. The speeding truck rammed into one of the tractor-trolley near Harchandpur village on Mainpuri road. Due to the high impact of this collision, the damaged trolley climbed on the trolley in front of it, the ASP said. Five of the deceased were children and 12 were women, he said. Thirty-three persons were also injured in the accident and have been admitted to different hospitals in Etah, Aligarh and Agra. Airline says 'mischievous propaganda'</br> <br>A picture of a lizard in the meal tray of a flyer purportedly on one of Air India's flights was doing the rounds on social media and also left the Civil Aviation Minister fuming but the airline termed it "baseless" and a "mischievous propaganda" against it. At the same time, the airline "reassured" all its customers that it takes utmost care in terms of maintaining quality of its onboard food services. The incident reportedly took place last Thursday in the Air India flight from Delhi to London. "This has reference to a report in the media, including on the social media, that a passenger had found a lizard in the meal tray on board AI-111 (Delhi-London) of 11 June, with photograph attached," the airline said.
