In her letter to Jung, Gamlin alleged that despite the fact that land does not come under Delhi Government, the Industry Minister put pressure on her to submit a note for the council of ministers proposing conversion of the industrial land from leasehold to freehold. (PTI) (31/05/2015) <br>PM received gifts worth Rs 3.11 lakh on foreign tours: RTI </br> Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received 65 gifts worth Rs 3.11 lakh during his foreign visits in the past ten months since assuming charge last year, an RTI query revealed. On February 19 Modi received gold and diamond studded cufflinks, valued at Rs 75,000. The PM was also twice given tea-sets and books as gifts. He also was presented a statue of Lord Buddha, whose messages he has invoked in several of his speeches abroad, said Foreign Ministry in response to an RTI query. The gift items received by the prime minister also included porcelain dishes, replica of temples, paintings, carpets, photographs, ornaments among others. Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office also said the government favoured return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley with "respect and security" as it was "incomplete" without them. "I will not be a hypocrite. There is no reason to be hypocritical. <br>Govt not behind ban on IIT students group: BJP</br> Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said the Union government was not behind the derecognition of a students' body at IIT-Madras and the decision was taken by the administration of the institute on the grounds of "misuse of privileges and violation of guidelines". "The Union Government was not behind the ban on Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle. The decision to derecognise and ban the students' group was taken by the IIT- Madras administration on grounds of misuse of privileges and violation of guidelines," BJP National Secretary H Raja told PTI at Ananthamangalam near Porayar. IIT-Madras found itself in the centre of a controversy over derecognition of the students' group, many of whose members are Dalits, following a complaint that it was critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Muslim chaplain at Chicago's Northwestern University was onboard a flight this weekend when she asked for an unopened can of soda for hygienic reasons and says was told, "Well, I'm sorry. Her remarks came in the backdrop of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan's recent visit to India to push for resumption of Indo-Pak cricket ties. Khan, in a joint press statement with BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya in Kolkata, proposed a series comprising three Tests, five ODIs and two T20s in UAE in December this year. The BCCI has, however, not given any categorical statement yet on the proposed series and the venue.
