Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled with his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba on the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Sendai on Saturday, highlighting the warmth in India–Japan relations. Ishiba said he would also accompany Modi by car for part of the journey. During his visit, the Indian leader is scheduled to tour a semiconductor plant and a bullet train coach facility, showcasing the two countries’ growing cooperation in defence, advanced technology and the economy.
