The iconic Chenab bridge in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6. With its launch, it will be a monumental achievement in India’s engineering history. The bridge is 359 metres tall and is built above the Chenab River. It is also the world’s highest railway arch bridge. It is built in such a way that it could bear seismic and wind conditions. The 1,315-metre-long steel structure forms a major part of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link. Apart from being a technical marvel, the bridge will boost connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. It will also transform travel in the region and will boost socio-economic development in the Kashmir Valley. Here’s a closer look at the magnificent bridge of India. (Photo source:@RailMinIndia)
