At the 2016 Auto Expo, over 80 new cars and bikes made their public debut. While many of those were in concept stage and will take another 2-3 years to finally get into production, there were several production-ready versions as well that will be launched this year. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza — Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza that made its world debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated launches of this year. The Vitara Brezza isn’t only Maruti’s first sub-4 meter SUV, but also the company’s first product that is completely developed in India by its in-house R&D team. This sub-compact SUV, initially, will be available with a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine that is matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. Tata Tiago — Tata Tiago (earlier known as Zica) is likely to be launched in the third week of March, 2016. Based on Tata’s new IMPACT design philosophy, the Tiago looks more contemporary and sportier than the company’s other existing cars. It has been designed with inputs from the carmaker’s Pune, Italy and UK studios. This new small car is one of the most equipped cars in its segment. Along with the segment-first Multi-drive mode, Smart phone enabled Turn-By-Turn navigation app and Juke-Car app, the hatchback offers several advanced comfort, connectivity and safety features. Honda Amaze Facelift — The new Honda Amaze 2016 facelift is all-set to launch on March 3, 2016. The compact-sedan’s first facelift will see minor cosmetic updates including a new chrome grille that seems inspired from the City, re-designed bumpers, new fog lamps and revised rear profile. Inside, there will be a new BR-V-inspired dashboard, new instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a touchscreen AVN system and revised AC vents. The engine lineup will remain unchanged – i.e. 1.2-litre, 87bhp i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre, 99bhp i-DTEC diesel. Renault Duster Facelift — The Renault Duster has always been a volume-generator for the French carmaker, and will receive its first facelift by the end of March 2016. Based on the latest Brazilian-spec model, the India-bound Duster facelift receives 30 new features that make it look more stylish and premium than the current model. Though, the most significant change will be the new Easy-R AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox that will be exclusively available on the diesel variant. The 2016 Duster facelift will continue to be powered by the existing 1.6-litre K4M petrol and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine that offer 102.53bhp, and 83.8bhp and 108.45bhp respectively. | Expected Price – Rs. 10 lakh – Rs 15 lakh | Rivals – Hyundai Creta, Honda BR-V, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Nissan Terrano

Mini Cooper S convertible — The British carmaker, Mini will launch the Mini Cooper Convertible in India by mid 2016. To be available only in the Cooper S variant, this three-door topless version of the standard Cooper shares its styling elements with its sibling. The car gets a new soft-top roof. Powering this convertible is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that belts out a maximum power of 190bhp and 280Nm of torque. This powertrain has been borrowed from the regular Cooper S. The India-bound model will be available with a choice of a 6-speed automatic gearbox. | Expected Price – Rs. 40 lakh – Rs. 50 lakh
