Union Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the 24th edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair on 9th January with China as guest of honour country as both nations seek to deepen their ties through cooperation in publishing. The nine-day fair, touted as the largest in Asia is hosting about 30 countries and a series of programmes including panel discussions, dramas, classical and folk dances, workshops, discussions, authors' meets, conferences, seminars and cultural programmes have been lined up. 1. World Book Fair : The World Book Fair commenced on January 9 and will last till January 17, 2016. 'The Cultural Heritage of India' is the theme of the fair this year. China will participate with 250 publishers as the Guest of Honour country. (Source: Book fair 2016)
