<br>PM Modi left in tears while recalling mother</br> <br>PM Narendra Modi was left in tears while talking about the sacrifices his mother made as he grew up. 65-year-old Modi displayed his rare emotional side when he was asked by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at a Town Hall event at the Facebook campus here to tell the audience something about his mother Heeraben Modi, who is now 95. "We have many things in common. Family is very important to us. Both my parents are here. I understand your mother is very important in your life," Zuckerberg told the prime minister. Modi was moved to tears while talking about the hardships his mother had to undergo while raising him. "When we were small, to sustain us she cleaned dishes, fill water, did laborious work at the neighbouring houses. You can imagine a mother, in order to raise her kids, underwent so much hardships," Modi spoke haltingly as he tried to control his tears, amid a hushed silence at the event. (PTI) (27/09/2015) </br>

<br>Broadband internet services resume in Jammu and Kashmir</br> <br>The internet services on broadband were restored tonight in Jammu and Kashmir, two days after the state government had ordered termination of data services fearing trouble during the Eid al-Adha. However, the ban on internet services on mobile phones will be lifted tomorrow morning. "The ban has been partially revoked and broadband services of BSNL are now working in the state," a police officer said. He said the mobile internet services would be restored in the morning tomorrow. The ban was to be lifted this morning, but the government extended it, saying it apprehended misuse by anti-social elements to create communal tension. (PTI) (27/09/2015) </br>

<br>Sikh organisations call for Punjab bandh on Sep 30</br> <br>Some Sikh organisations today called for a Punjab bandh on September 30 in protest against the decision of Akal Takht to pardon Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Representatives of All India Sikh Student Federation, Dam Dami Taksal, Akali Dal (Delhi), United Akali Dal took part in the meeting here which was held under the leadership of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranji Singh Mann. Addressing media persons, Mann said Punjab bandh will be observed on September 30 and it would remain effective between 10 am till 2 pm. During the meeting, Sikh leaders expressed their deep anguish over the decision of Akal Takht to pardon Dera head even as he failed to appear at the highest temporal seat for Sikhs. They also announced to call a 'Sarbat Khalsa' (assembly of Sikh masses) on Diwali festival to appoint new five Sikh priests by removing the existing ones who took the decision to pardon Dera Sacha Sauda chief. <br>BJP to abolish quota policy, if it wins in Bihar: Nitish</br> <br>Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today claimed that the BJP-led coalition at the Centre will abolish reservation for OBCs, SC and STs if it wins state assembly elections after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat called for a review of the quotas. "The RSS chief has publicly called for review of the reservation policy which the BJP-led coalition at the centre may scrap if NDA gets power in Bihar," Kumar alleged at an election rally in Parbatta Assembly constituency in Khagaria district. <br>Mumbai police ensure incident-less last day of Ganesh festival</br> <br>As millions of devotees poured out on the roads to bid adieu to Lord Ganesh today, Mumbai police heaved a sigh of relief at the end of the day as no untoward incident or mishap was reported. Police were on their toes throughout the last 10 days of Ganesh Festival which is always a big challenge in terms of security, and especially so this year as the Eid too fell in the same period this time. However, at the end, the force acquitted itself well. "There wasn't any untoward incident. Nobody was injured, during the immersion (which in Mumbai mostly happens on beaches)," said DCP M Dahikar. <br>BJP MLA, leader back R K Singh's charge of BJP selling tickets</br> <br>Outgoing BJP MLA Vikram Kunwar today backed party MP R K Singh's sensational claim that the Bharatiya Janata Party was "selling" tickets to criminals and alleged that he, too, was denied ticket from Raghunathpur Assembly seat as it was "sold" to a turncoat. "I substantiate Singh's charge that the BJP has sold tickets to criminals as I have been denied ticket from Raghunathpur Assembly seat and replaced by Manoj Singh, a sharpshooter of Shahabuddin," alleged Kunwar, a sitting MLA. Claiming that he was a committed party worker, Kunwar told PTI that he was unhappy with the manner in which the party leadership denied ticket to him, but added that he would continue to remain a BJP loyalist. Another BJP leader also accused the party of "selling" tickets to criminals and said he was corroborating his charge on the basis of ticket given to the jailed JD(U) leader Sunil Pandey's wife Gita Pandey. <br>FTII students end hunger strike, talks with govt on Sep 29</br> <br>The agitating students at FTII today called off their 18-day-old hunger strike in response to the Information and Broadcasting ministry's letter fixing a meeting for further dialogue on September 29 to end the deadlock over the contentious appointment of actor and BJP member Gajendra Chauhan as chairman of the institute. The FTII students were on a relay hunger strike for the last 18 days to intensify their over three-month-long stir demanding withdrawl of Chauhan as the institute's chairman. <br>Kerala govt's website hacked</br> <br>Kerala Government's official website (In pic after being restored) has been hacked by "suspected Pakistan-based hackers". The Cyber cell police are probing into the incident, which is suspected to have occurred last night. State government's official website 'www.keralagov.in' has been hacked by Pakistan-based hackers and efforts were on a war footing to restore it, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said.
