Budget 2016 session: With just three working days left in the first part of session, the Narendra Modi NDA government plans to press for the passage of some key bills, including the Whistle Blower Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015 and Enemy Property (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2016. Getting the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill and the Aadhar Bill passed were highlights of this Parliament meet for the government, which happened in the third week of the session. Since it had begun on a stormy note last month, not much was expected from the MPs who had been hurling accusations at each other both before and during heated exchanges in both houses. (AP)

Budget 2016: Ruling NDA MPs hope that the General Budget's rural pitch will blunt opposition attack and help the alliance in the forthcoming assembly polls. The first BJP Parliamentary Party meeting in the session in which members of its allies were also invited had Finance Minister Arun Jaitley speak in detail about India's strong growth amid the global slowdown and members were also briefed about government's developmental agenda in the coming years.
