Unichem Labs shares climb over 5% on posting 10 times jump in net profit

Unichem Laboratores shares gained over 5 per cent on Monday after the company reported 897.33 per cent rise in its net profit figures to Rs 20.55 crore on Saturday for the quarter ended December 2015. The company earned Rs 2.06 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

The share price of Unichem Labs closed 5.46 per cent up at Rs 240.60. The scrip opened at Rs 243 and touched a high and low of Rs 245.90 and Rs 237.50, respectively, in trade.

Gross sales of the company jumped 15.61 per cent year-on-year to Rs 303.93 for the quarter under review. The company posted topline figures of Rs 262.89 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Operating profit of Unichem Labs jumped 188.47 per cent year-on-year to Rs 38.69.
