India’s soyameal exports plunged 85% in October, as poor raw material supplies cut output and affected competitiveness in the overseas market. Outbound shipments slid to just 29,690 tonne in October, compared with 1,94,486 tonne a year before, according to data released by Soyabean Processors Association on Friday.

Although exports recovered slightly from this fiscal’s trough in September,  they touched just 1.27 lakh tonne during April-October, as against 10.71 lakh tonne a year before. These data do not include supplies to Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh by rail or road. fe Bureau
