Journalists now need not go to counters for booking train tickets as the Indian Railways today launched ebooking facility on concessional passes available to them.

“It was promised in Budget 2016 to provide ebooking facility to journalists and today we fulfilled it,” Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said here today after launching the facility for accredited scribes.

Journalists were earlier required to book Indian Railways tickets on concessional passes at PRS counters.

In order to avail the benefit of the Indian Railways ebooking facility, journalists have to use their registered ID card number issued by Railways to book tickets.
