Indian equity indices are expected to open on a muted note. The Asian indices were trading higher. The GIFT Nifty is trading higher at 25,173. Earlier on Friday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 252 points or 1.02% higher at 25,003, while the BSE Sensex rose 747 points or 0.92% to close at 82,189.

US China trade talks
The US and China are set to hold fresh talks in London later today, offering a small glimmer of hope that the world’s two largest economies can defuse tensions over Chinese dominance in rare-earth minerals. Both sides have accused the other of reneging on a deal in Geneva in May, where they tried to start dialling back their trade war
Asian Markets
Asia-Pacific markets traded higher on Monday morning as investors awaited trade talks between Washington and Beijing later in the day. Also, trade tension between the US and China has started easing, with China resuming exports of rare earths. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 rose 0.91% and the Topix gained 0.61% at the open. South Korea’s Kospi jumped 1.55% while the small-cap Kosdaq advanced 0.21%. The Asia Dow was up 0.93% at 3,660.72.
US markets
The equity futures tied to US benchmarks were trading on a flat note. The S&P 500 futures dipped about 0.1%. The futures contracts tied to the Nasdaq 100 drifted lower by 0.2%, while futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked down 45 points, or 0.1%.
US dollar
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was flat at 99.09 on Monday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee appreciated 0.20% to close at 85.64 to the dollar on June 06.
Crude oil
The crude oil prices traded on a flat note on Monday morning. WTI crude prices were trading at $64.57, down by 0.02%, while Brent crude prices were trading at $66.44, down by 0.04%.
FII, DII data
Foreign institutional investors (FII) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 1,009.71 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DII) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 9,342.48 crore on June 05, 2024, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.
Gold rate today
The gold price retreated from its new lifetime high, but still hovers near that mark. The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 97,160 per 10 grams. The rate of gold has surged by 0.28% in the last month. The 22 kt gold rate today is Rs 89,063 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today is Rs 72,870.
