Petrol, Diesel Price Today 4 October 2024: Oil prices went up amid geopolitical tension increasing in the Middle East has raised concerns related to the possible blockage in global crude supplies. The key focus remains to continue to oil-producing countries in the region, with fear that if the conflicts escalate it can affect the flow of oils globally. Brent crude futures rose by $3.59 or 4.86% at $77.49 per barrel whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures climbed up to $3.58 or 5.11 % at $73.68 per barrel. The market is tensed on the chances of an Israeli attack on Iran’s oil infrastructure which can result in retaliation too.
Meanwhile, while talking to CNBC, President Joe Biden on the question of whether the US will support Israel strike on Iran’s oil infrastructure, replied, ”We are discussing that. I think that would be a little-anyway”. Biden also added that nothing is going to happen today. US crude oil prices went up more than 4% on Thursday after Biden’s comment. The Chief commodities analyst of a Swedish Bank SEB, Bjarne Schieldrop mentioned to CNBC that oil prices might increase to $200 per barrel if Israel strikes Iran’s oil facilities.
