Petrol, Diesel Price Today 23 September 2024: Oil prices went up slightly on concern about the ongoing crisis in West Asia that can affect supply from key production areas. There was also anticipation that the US interest rate which was slashed by 50 bps would boost demand. As per the latest report, Brent Crude Futures for November were up by 20 cents or 0.3% at $74.69 per barrel. On the other hand, US crude futures for November went up 22 cents or 0.3% at $71.22 per barrel.
Meanwhile, operations by oil tankers which were halted because of bad road conditions on National Highway 6 and 306 have been resumed. The supply of essentials was also disrupted because of the same reason. Both the highways play a crucial role in connecting Assam with Mizoram. According to B Lalchhanzova, State Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister, the situation is under control and is slowly returning to normal.
According to Rahul Kalantri, from VP Commodities, Mehta Equities Ltd, ‘’ We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today’s session. Crude oil is having support at $70.50-69.70 and resistance at $71.90-72.40. In INR terms, crude oil has support at Rs5,910-5,840 while resistance is at Rs 6035-6,110.’’
