Petrol, Diesel Price Today 11 October 2024: Crude oil prices were up by 4% because of a hike in fuel consumption in the US as Hurricane Milton advances to Florida. The concern for disruption in oil supply in the Middle East remains intact. Brent crude futures rose by $2.82 or 3.7% at $79.40 a barrel whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude increased by $2.61 or 3.6 % at $75.85.
Earlier this month, crude prices went up after Iran attacked Israel with more than 180 missiles at Israel on October 1. Concern also arose in case Israel retaliated against Iran’s oil facilities. However, prices remained steady this week but investors are still attentive especially after the comment of Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant that any actions against Iran can be lethal and surprising.
