Xiaomi Mi 4i priced at Rs 12,999 to go on open sale on May 25 and 26

Buyers are not required to register themselves on Flipkart to buy the Xiaomi Mi 4i smartphone.

Xiaomi is betting big on start-ups and has earmarked about $100 million over the next two years to invest in this segment.

The Mi 4i smartphone from Xiaomi will be available without registrations on May 25 and 26 along with the Lenovo A6000 Plus smartphone on Flipkart. Priced at Rs 12,999, the Mi 4i features a 5-inch 1080p Full HD fully laminated OGS sunlight display with a pixel density of PPI. Mi 4i ships with MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Another interesting feature introduced in MIUI 6 is visual IVR which lets user to see options in automated calls and respond at a glance. So, if you are dialing any customer care number, you will not have to listen and follow instructions like “Please press 1 for English or press 2 for Hindi.”

The smartphone runs on a 2nd-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor based on A53 architecture with four performance cores at 1.7GHz and four power saving cores at 1.1 GHz. It comes with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which cannot be further expanded. So, users will have to live with around 12GB of free memory.

Powered by a 3120mAh battery with Quick Charge technology, the device comes with a 13MP rear camera with Sony/Samsung sensor along with a two-tone (White and Yellow) flash. It also comes with a 5MP front camera (f/1.8 wide-angled lens).

On the connectivity front, it is a dual SIM (dual standby) device and supports 4G on both SIM card slots. Other features include 802.11ac WiFi with M-MIMO support (supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), Bluetooth 4.1, Bluetooth HID, WiFi display and WiFi Direct.
