Xiaomi on Tuesday announced the launch of its second line of smart TVs- The Mi TV 3S, available in 55 inches and 65 inch and sporting 4K displays. This is the Chinese tech giant’s second outing in the smart television market. Earlier in March, Xiaomi had launched the 43-inch FHD TV and the 65-inch curved Mi TV 3S. NNow, bothe the Mi TV 3S variants launched on Tuesday have 4K resolutions and support HDR. In China, they are priced at RMB 3,500($525) and RMB 5,000($750), respectively. The two models are not just separated by their sizes but also the sources of their 4K displays. The 55-inch Mi TV has an IPS 4K display from LG, whereas the 65-inch Mi TV 3S takes its from Samsung.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 3S sets are 9.9mm thick at its thinnest and 37.6mm at its thickest. It comes with an aluminium body with diamond cut sides and an aluminium rear. Both the TV sets run on a 64-bit Amlogic T966 processor coupled with a 4 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor on the inside. They also have a Mali-T830(2+2) GPU. The TV sets sport a RAM of 2GB and have an internal memory storage of 8GB. The users can also get Wi-Fi 802.11ac. H.265 video can be decoded by the Tv at up to 4K@ 60fps for streaming video.
In matters of audio, the sets sport 4 speakers including a soundbar, Dolby Atmos support and DTS hardware-level decoding support. The Mi Tv 3S TVs also boast of an Artificial Intelligence recommended machine learning engine, that features various apps from streaming websites from outside the country. The Mi TV 3S Home theatre edition, though comes with 2.25 inch rear speakers, a proper soundbar, coupling the 65-inch television. It is currently available in the Chinese market at RMB 5,999.
