Coolpad on Friday launched its new Coolpad Note 5, priced at Rs 10,999 in India. The new smartphone is to be made available to Indian consumers via Amazon from October 20. Coolpad said that the smartphone is to be made available through an open sale model. The highlight of the phone is said to be its massive 4010 mAh battery. The Coolpad Note 5 sports a 5.5 inch full HD screen with pixels of 1080×1920, coupled with 2.5D Curved glass and a pixel density of 401ppi.
The Coolpad Note 5 runs on the Cool UI 8.0 OS, which is based on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new smartphone gets powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617, with an Adreno 405 GPU. It also houses 4GB RAM. The smartphone sports a rear camera of 13 megapixels with dual LED flash and a front camera that boasts of 8 megapixels. The 8-megapixel front camera has its own LED flash feature along with the new ‘smart beautification feature’. The phone has an inbuilt memory storage of 32GB which can be expanded with a microSD card for up to 64GB. It has a hybrid dual SIM configuration, which means that the user can use either the external memory card or a second SIM at one time.
The phone also sports a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel that the company claims can unlock the Coolpad Note 5 in 0.5 seconds. The phone supports gesture shortcuts for both left and right-hand inputs. The company, in the event of the launch, said that the smartphone supports all the 4G brands in India, with the 4G VoLTE support as well. The smartphone also allows the users to have two accounts on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and other apps on the same phone. Though a multi-screen feature is also talked about, much information hasn’t come out on it yet.
