Xiaomi’s much-anticipated Xiaomi 15 smartphone has reportedly been listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, hinting a potential India launch soon. The device, identified by the model number 24129PN74I, has already been available in China since October 2024, and its appearance on the BIS certification platform suggests that it could arrive in India by early 2025.
Xiaomi 15 specifications: What to expect
The Xiaomi 15 is expected to boast a 6.36-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1200 x 2670 pixels) and supports an up to 120Hz refresh rate. It also has 3,200 nits peak brightness and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
On the camera front, the Xiaomi 15 is equipped with a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, providing users with high-quality photography and versatile shooting options. For selfies, the device is fitted with a 32MP front camera.
The device is expected to support IP68 water and dust resistance, ensuring durability against the elements. It also features a 5,400mAh battery with 90W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, offering rapid power replenishment for users on the go.
Expected launch and pricing
While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the global launch date for the Xiaomi 15, its appearance on the BIS website suggests that the Indian launch could follow a similar timeline to the Xiaomi 14, which debuted in India in March 2024. Based on this, the Xiaomi 15 might hit Indian shores around March 2025.
The price of the Xiaomi 15 in China starts at CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 52,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and it is expected that the Indian variant will be similarly priced within the same range.
