WhatsApp is gearing up to make chat management significantly easier with an anticipated new feature that will allow users to quickly mark all their chats as read. This enhancement, currently being previewed in the latest beta version 2.24.18.11, is set to change how users handle their message notifications and keep their chat interfaces clutter-free.
According to WabetaInfo, the chat app maker is developing a feature that will enable users to clear all unread messages with a single action. This new functionality will be integrated into the overflow menu within the chats list, allowing users to quickly mark all their chats as read in one go. The feature is designed to save time and enhance user convenience by eliminating the need to open and manually mark each chat individually. Tins feature will be included in a future update of the app and is currently being tested in the Google Play Beta Program with version 2.24.18.11.
While the feature is not yet available to all beta testers, it is expected to be especially beneficial for users who manage a high volume of chats and want a quick way to organise their conversations without getting bogged down by unread message notifications.
Notably, this feature has been available on WhatsApp for iOS devices for some time. The addition of this option aligns with WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance functionality and user satisfaction across its app.
This latest update follows other significant changes in the WhatsApp space, including ability to add PIN lock for its username feature. It will reportedly add a PIN to protect your WhatsApp username.
