WhatsApp has announced the global rollout of its new custom lists feature, to help users better organise their chats. This feature is designed to improve how individuals manage their conversations, making it easier to access important contacts and groups.
With this feature, users can create personalised lists to categorise their chats. For instance, you could have a list for family members, another for work colleagues, and yet another for friends or neighbourhood groups. This organisational tool will appear alongside existing chat filters, such as “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups,” making it simple to navigate between different categories of conversations.
To create a Custom List, users need to tap the “+” icon located on the filter bar in the chat section. Once clicked, they can name their list and add any contacts or groups they wish to include. This flexibility allows users to customise their chat experience according to their needs. For example, if you often communicate with your family and want quick access to those conversations, you can easily create a list labelled “Family.”
Editing these lists is also straightforward. Users can modify their lists at any time by long-pressing on the name tab of the list in the filter bar. This feature ensures that your organisation system remains relevant as your contacts and groups may change over time.
The introduction of Custom Lists is expected to significantly enhance the user experience on WhatsApp. With the growing number of chats and groups people participate in daily, this feature offers a practical solution to manage them effectively. Users can quickly find important conversations without scrolling through endless chat histories, saving time and reducing frustration.
