WhatsApp will soon let you use accounts from the same device with an account switcher. This comes after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that users will soon be able to switch between two accounts on WhatsApp.
He wrote, “Switch between two accounts on WhatsApp — Soon you’ll be able to have two WhatsApp accounts on one phone within the app.”

It comes in handy especially if you use two phones – one for work and the other for personal use. Now, you can use both work and personal WhatsApp accounts on one phone. However, there are a few requirements from Meta’s side: you still need a separate phone number and SIM card which means a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM.
Additionally, to receive the one-time passcode sent by WhatsApp via SMS for accessing your second account on a different device, you will require either the second phone itself or its SIM card. Following this initial verification, WhatsApp spokesperson Ellie Heatrick, via The Verge, explains that the app will function seamlessly for both accounts, and there will be no further need for the second device or SIM.
