Vivo has officially launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in the Indian market today, marking a significant entry into the premium foldable segment. The X Fold 5, which competes with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, focuses entirely on a slim and sophisticated design, advanced cameras and more. The device intends to cement Vivo in to the premium foldable smartphone space. 

The Vivo X Fold 5, being the company’s flagship offering in India, commands premium pricing. The phone comes in a sole storage variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, priced at Rs 1,49,999. The X Fold 5 comes to India in only the Titanium Gray colour variant. Vivo is also offering up to 24 months of no-cost EMI, 10 per cent cashback and more.

Vivo X Fold 5 features and specifications at a glance

The Vivo X Fold 5 boasts a 8.03-inch 2K+ 8T LTPO AMOLED main foldable display, promising a good visual experience with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate and a high peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Complementing this is a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LTPO AMOLED cover display, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and the same high peak brightness, ensuring a consistent and vibrant viewing experience whether folded or unfolded.

Under the hood, the X Fold 5 is powered by last year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, paired with the Adreno 750 GPU. This powerful combination promises top-tier performance, capable of handling demanding applications, intensive multitasking, and graphics-heavy gaming with ease. The phone comes with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a single storage option of 512GB. 

Photography is a major highlight, with the Vivo X Fold 5 sporting a versatile triple-camera setup co-engineered with ZEISS. This includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto lens, promising exceptional image quality across various scenarios. For high-quality selfies and video calls, a 20MP front-facing shooter is integrated in both the cover and main display.

Keeping the device powered is a substantial 6,000mAh battery, supporting rapid 80W wired fast charging and convenient 40W wireless charging. The X Fold 5 runs on Vivo’s customised Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, offering a feature-rich and optimised user interface that encourages multitasking. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking and an IPX9+ rating, indicating enhanced resistance to water.
