Vivo’s upcoming smartphone, the Vivo V50, is set to launch in February 2025, with fresh leaks revealing key details about the device. Although the company has not officially confirmed the launch date, reports suggest that Vivo could unveil the V50 this month, and anticipation is already building around its features and pricing.
Expected price and potential hike
Tipster Abhishek Yadav has revealed that the Vivo V50 will be priced at Rs 37,999 in India. While this information remains unverified, Yadav suggests that the price will likely stay below Rs 40,000, a slight increase from the previous model. To recall, the Vivo V40 was launched in India at Rs 34,999, which implies a price hike of approximately Rs 3,000 for the V50.
Key specifications
The Vivo V50 will reportedly retain much of what made its predecessor, the Vivo V40, a strong contender in its segment. Most notably, the V50 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, providing solid performance for mid-range users. The camera setup remains largely unchanged, with a dual rear camera system featuring two 50-megapixel sensors. For selfies, the V50 is expected to carry the same 50-megapixel front camera seen in the V40, which should ensure high-quality photos.
The Vivo V50 is also set to offer a larger battery than its predecessor. The device will feature a 6,000mAh battery, an upgrade over the V40’s 5,500mAh unit, allowing for longer usage. To complement this, the device is expected to support 90W fast charging, an improvement from the V40’s 80W charging speed, ensuring users can quickly charge their phones and get back to using them.
Enhanced durability and design
In terms of durability, the Vivo V50 could come with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering enhanced water and dust resistance, a feature typically seen in high-end premium smartphones. The design is rumored to remain similar to that of the V40, retaining the same blueprint and form factor. This might mean familiar looks, but with improvements in performance and durability.
