What does it take to become the CEO of OpenAI – one of the world’s most valued AI companies? While it required lots of technical knowledge and business sense for Sam Altman to grace that post, a LinkedIn member figured he’d give it a shot with a conventional job application. Hence, OpenAI CEO aspirant Omer Oztok, who was also a co-founder of Sondra, sent a well crafted job application to the senior management of the company. Although he wasn’t expecting a response, someone at OpenAI responded.

For a firm like OpenAI, replacing their CEO over one job application wouldn’t be feasible. In Oztok’s case, however, the global leadership team representative was more concerned about the bold promises he made. Hence, OpenAI responded and Oztok was happy to share it with the world.

Aspiring OpenAI CEO made bold claims

Oztok highlighted a series of radical changes he would implement if given the top job at OpenAI. Among his most eyebrow-raising ideas was a plan to replace the entire C-suite (excluding himself) with ChatGPT agents, a move he believed would streamline operations. He also suggested poaching the entire AI team from rival tech giant Meta and training the next-generation model, GPT-6, exclusively on his personal social media posts.
Decisions that would make Sam Altman furious (at least that’s what we believe in)!

Hence, OpenAI responded to his job application, ensuring that he shouldn’t have such though for OpenAI or any other AI firm.

OpenAI did not want a new CEO

The company’s response acknowledged his “unmatched” enthusiasm but expressed serious concerns about his proposals. The letter stated that the executive team viewed his idea of a ChatGPT-led C-suite as “apocalyptic” and that his other suggestions were flagged as “disruptive” by the legal department. The letter concluded with a witty end, noting that OpenAI had ultimately chosen a more “traditional candidate” who had not demanded a 50 per cent per cent stake in the company.

The humorous take, acknowledged by Oztok, created a good laugh for netizens. “That’s alright. One day, Sondra will overtake OpenAI. Just watch,” wrote Oztok on LinkedIn. However, some laughed on the how OpenAI’s top brass was concerned about getting their jobs replaced by Agentic AI, when the company’s product does the same for other firms.
