OnePlus has officially set the stage for the unveiling of its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15. With a launch event in China on October 27, the highly anticipated flagship is said to debut alongside the new OnePlus Ace 6 – a phone that is likely to become the OnePlus 15R in India and other global markets. These two devices are expected to replace the outgoing models and help OnePlus compete with the recently launched iPhone 17 series.
The star of the show will be the OnePlus 15, confirmed to be powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This alone is likely to position it as a top-tier contender for raw processing power and performance. The company has also revealed that the phone will feature a punch-hole display boasting an extremely high 165Hz refresh rate, promising mobile gamers and users demanding the smoothest possible visual experience.
OnePlus 15R teased to launch alongside OnePlus 15
While details on the OnePlus Ace 6, a.k.a the OnePlus 15R, remain scarce, OnePlus did reveal a glimpse of its design and available colour options. The company indicated that it will likely be a low-cost alternative to the OnePlus 15, featuring only two cameras on the back.
Considering the ritual, the OnePlus 15R could feature last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, bringing the performance of the 3nm Qualcomm chip to the masses. OnePlus could give it a larger capacity battery and a faster charging solution, possibly a 100W wired system. Owing to its lower price, the OnePlus 15R could lose out on premium features like wireless charging, a fast 165Hz refresh rate, a premium build and more subdued colourways.
The OnePlus 15 itself will launch in three distinct colours in China – Sand Dune, Absolute Black, and Mist Purple. Both the OnePlus 15 and the Ace 6 are currently available for pre-order through Oppo’s online store in the Chinese market.
OnePlus 15 series India launch date
Following the initial unveiling in China, global availability is expected to follow shortly. Rumours suggest that the international debut of the OnePlus 15 is scheduled for November 13, with India being one of the first markets to get the handset. The OnePlus 15R could also launch alongside as a more affordable alternative to the OnePlus 15.
When launched, the OnePlus 15 may have to put up with competition from other premium devices like the iQOO 15, Apple iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S25, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series and the Google Pixel 10.
