OnePlus is gearing up for the much-anticipated launch of the OnePlus 13, set to debut in China on October 31, 2024. With the launch date now nearing, the flagship device promises to bring incremental upgrades across several key areas, including battery life, display technology, and camera capabilities. Following its Chinese release, a global rollout, including markets like India, is expected in early 2025.

One of the standout features of the OnePlus 13 will be its massive 6,000 mAh battery, surpassing the 5,400 mAh battery found in its predecessor, the OnePlus 12. This will be paired with rapid 100W wired charging. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 introduces 50W wireless charging, though it will rely on specially designed cases to enable this magnetic feature, rather than integrating it directly into the phone.

The upcoming OnePlus 13 will sport a fresh design with a micro-quad-curved display and a distinctive circular camera module. This updated camera layout will also be different from the previous models holding a separate, circular island-like appearance on the back. The module will have three lenses arranged in a square, each surrounded by a sleek metallic ring, emphasizing the phone’s photography capabilities.

The display will be a 6.7-inch second-gen Oriental X2 8T LTPO AMOLED screen developed by BOE, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It has received DisplayMate A++ certification, reflecting its high quality. Features designed for user comfort, such as DC dimming and anti-flicker technology, aim to minimise eye strain, while innovative functions like Rain Touch 2.0 enhance usability in wet conditions.

The OnePlus 13 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising superior speed and efficiency. Rumoured configurations may offer up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the collaboration with Hasselblad, once again. The OnePlus 13 is expected to feature a triple-camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. This impressive array, coupled with advanced image processing capabilities, aims to deliver outstanding performance, particularly in low-light conditions.

In terms of software, the OnePlus 13 will launch with ColorOS 15 in China, built on Android 15. However, for international markets, it will be equipped with OxygenOS 15, offering a cleaner interface tailored to user preferences. This latest version incorporates AI-driven enhancements designed to improve overall user experience.

As for the anticipated price, ongoing rumours and leaks suggest that the top-tier variant of the OnePlus 13 may start around CNY 5,299 (approximately Rs 60,500), indicating a price increase from the OnePlus 12. If this trend holds, Indian consumers might expect a starting price near Rs 77,000, marking an uptick from its predecessor.
