Who is Kairan Quazi?
Kairan is a child prodigy who hails from Bangladesh. He lives with his parents in the US, both of whom are Immigrants living in the United States. Kairan’s mother, Jullia Quazi is a professional working at Wall Street and his father Mustahid Quazi is a chemical engineer by profession. His parents’ profession explains Kairan’s fascination for Science, finance and Tech.
Kairan showcased his potential to the world when, he got his first degree of Associate of Science from Las Positas College at just 14. Moreover, he didn’t stop there, he then went on to became the youngest graduate in Santa Clara University’s 170-year history with a degree in computer science and engineering.
When Did Kairan Start Working?
Kairan Quazi began his career early, interning at Intel Labs at the age of 10 before finishing college. He also worked at Blackbird.AI in 2022. His mother’s work in mergers and acquisitions played a role in shaping his interest in finance.
Then, right after graduation, Quazi joined SpaceX as its youngest engineer. He worked for two years on the Starlink project, contributing to production-critical systems that controlled how satellites targeted their beams to provide internet connectivity. His work played a role in improving the speed and reliability of Starlink services.
What are Kairan’s Future Plans?
Quazi received offers from AI research labs and big technology companies but chose finance instead. Explaining his decision, he told Business Insider, “Quant finance offers a pretty rare combination: the complexity and intellectual challenge that AI research also provides, but with a much faster pace … I’ll be able to see measurable impact in days, not months or years like many research environments.”
At Citadel Securities, he will work on developing systems that support high-speed global trading.
