iPhone is arguably the biggest launch by Apple in years, but as it is with year announcement, the price of the device is one of the most talked about things all over the world. As expected, the iPhone X, which comes with wireless charging, OLED screen, and Face ID has been exorbitantly priced in India too. This Apple device will roll out for Indian buyers on November 3 and you can pre order them starting from October 27 itself. In India, the iPhone never comes for cheap. In fact, it is usually priced high above the original price for the US market. However, it is a bit surprising to see the same happening this time around even though Apple has been investing a lot in the country recently.

The Apple iPhone X comes for Rs 89,000 in India. While this is the price is for the 64GB storage variant, it still is the most expensive Apple smartphone in India. However, the 256GB model of the iPhone X crosses even that barrier and has been priced at a whopping Rs 1,02,000. These prices make India one of the most expensive places to buy an iPhone X. It is so expensive in India that the difference with certain countries like Japan, Hong Kong, and Canada is huge. The margin is so high, that you can even fund a trip to Japan for yourself and buy an iPhone X there. One of the main reasons for the difference in prices is the sales tax in certain countries. That is why even in the UK the price of the iPhone X is huge. Anyway, talking about the Japan trip, here is the math:

iPhone X price in India is Rs 89,000 or Rs 1,02,000. The price in Japan is 112,800 Yen (64GB) or 130045 Yen (256GB). When calculated with current exchange rate, the prices in Japan come out to be around Rs 65,000 and Rs 75,000. This essentially means that the difference in prices of the iPhone X in India and Japan is roughly Rs 25,000.
