Apple has its most anticipated launch event scheduled for September 9, and this year, there is going to be a host of new launches, other than the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series. Based on what the rumours say, Apple is planning to unveil the new Apple Watch Series 11, a revised version of the Apple Watch SE, new HomePod Mini and Apple TV 4K, new AirTag and Apple Vision Pro 2.

The launch event, dubbed “Awe inspiring”, will begin its livestream from 10:30 PM IST on September 9, 2025. Although the teaser reveals nothing other than the date, the accompanied image, which resembles the Apple logo rendered in Liquid Glass, could hint at various colour shades of the upcoming iPhone 17 series as well as other accessories.

Hence, without beating around the bush, let’s dive into everything that Apple has to offer at its September 9 launch event.

iPhone 17 series

This year, Apple’s rumoured iPhone 17 series is expected to include four variants: the standard iPhone 17, the new and ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air, the feature-packed iPhone 17 Pro, and maxed iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The base iPhone 17 sports a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for buttery-smooth scrolling. Powered by the new A19 chip and 8GB RAM, it will include Apple Intelligence for smarter Siri interactions and photo editing. The Camera upgrades feature a 48MP main sensor paired with a 12MP Ultra Wide for 2x optical zoom and 4K video recording. The selfie camera could feature a 24MP front sensor. Additional perks like Camera Control for quick adjustments and an Action Button for customisable shortcuts are expected to be present. With storage said to start from 256GB, the iPhone 17 could have a starting price of $849, or Rs 89,999.

Replacing the iPhone 16 Plus is the iPhone 17 Air, which is touted as Apple’s thinnest phone yet at just 5.5mm and 145 grams. Its 6.6-inch LTPO OLED screen will support 120Hz refresh rates, encased in a titanium-glass body. Relying on the A19 chip with 12GB RAM, it could opt for a single 48MP rear camera capable of 2x zoom and 4K video. Unique touches include the Apple C1 modem for improved connectivity and a non-centred USB-C port. Battery stamina from a 2,900mAh cell with 25W MagSafe charging could restrain its practicality. The iPhone 17 Air will be available in black, silver, gold, and light blue colourways, starting from $949, or Rs 99,999.

For power users, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max deliver pro-grade specs. Both boast LTPO OLED displays — the Pro at 6.3 inches and Pro Max at 6.9 inches — with a 120Hz ProMotion variable refresh rate display and anti-reflective coatings. The A19 Pro chip, 12GB RAM, and vapour chamber cooling should ensure seamless multitasking and gaming. The camera setup includes a triple 48MP sensor setup – one each for main, ultra wide and telephoto with 5x optical zoom. The camera setup is also rumoured to feature a mechanical variable aperture for creative depth control and 8K video. A 5,000mAh battery for the Pro Max supports 35W wired and 25W MagSafe wireless charging, with storage up to 1TB. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start at $1,049 for the Pro variant and $1,249 for the Pro Max. A new orange colourway, along with a darker blue shade, is expected to mark these aside from the regular variants.

All iPhone 17 models will run iOS 26 at launch.

New Apple Watch models

The Apple Watch Series 11, replacing the Series 10, retains its familiar design but adds a new sky blue colour option. Powered by the S11 chip and supporting 5G, it is said to run watchOS 26 at launch. As part of the new health monitoring suite, the Watch Series 11 will introduce blood pressure detection alongside ECG and blood oxygen saturation monitoring for proactive health insights.

For budget-friendly consumers, the Apple Watch SE 3 adopts a new design with larger displays akin to the Series 8, driven by the older S10 chip and the new watchOS 26. While the Watch SE could miss out on ECG and SpO2 monitoring, the addition of sleep apnea detection could make it more useful for Apple Watch users.

For adventurer seekers, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could keep its rugged build but upgrade to a bigger display with 422×514 pixel resolution and LTPO 3 technology for always-on refresh every second. It may include exclusive watch faces, a wide-angle OLED screen, the new S11 chip, 5G and satellite connectivity, and blood pressure monitoring.

Home accessories

As part of its home accessory arsenal, Apple is updating the Apple TV 4K with new hardware. The smart TV streaming box gets an A17 Pro chip with support for Apple Intelligence, enabling upgraded Siri, actor identification in shows, and personalised recommendations on tvOS 26.

The AirTag 2, which will succeed the controversial AirTag, could triple its precision finding range to 90 meters (up from 30) – thanks to a new wireless chip, enhanced privacy, and next-gen UWB for better tracking.

The HomePod mini for 2025 introduces a new in-house networking chip supporting Wi-Fi 6E, turning it into a wireless access point while improving audio quality.

And lastly, Apple will be upgrading its flagship headset with newer innards. The Apple Vision Pro 2 refines the mixed-reality headset with an M4 chip, the refreshed visionOS 26, and a new comfortable strap for extended use.
